FAQs
Need some help? Following are some questions frequently asked by our customers with the
answers.
How much is my gold worth
Q: How is payment of my items determined?
A: Payment is based on gold content (karat), weight, and the daily price of gold.
Q: How does the mobile service operate
A: In Windsor/ Essex, Ontario we offer at home evaluation and pricing of your gold jewellery
You will have a price quoted and the agent will return with a bank draft for the agreed upon
amount. For security purposes no cash is kept with the mobile agents.
Q: Can I reject part of the offer or the entire offer?
A: Yes you can reject the entire offer and still have a partial deal to sell your gold jewellery. We
are committed to making this process comfortable to you from start to finish.
Q: There is a stamp on my ring indicating “18K.” Is this reliable?
A: Unfortunately, not always. Although most countries require manufacturers to stamp the gold
content of their jewelry, very few countries (including the US) enforce these laws or require an
independent third party to evaluate the item. The stamp on your jewelry may be correct, but it is
quite common to receive jewelry that is fraudulently stamped.
Q: What testing methods are used to determine purity of gold?
A: Upon receiving your gold, Testers will first look for a stamp on the jewelry made by the
manufacturer indicating the karat. Testers then have three testing methods (acid/scratch test,
electronic tester, and X-ray fluorescence scan) to verify the gold purity of your items.
Q: What is the Fast payment method?
A: Once payment for your items has been determined, a check will be mailed to you. If you
choose the Fast payment method, the amount will be directly deposited into your bank account
via an email transaction. If you have an account with Royal Bank, CIBC, TD Canada Trust or
BMO, your payment is deposited into the account of your choice instantly.
Q: How do I choose the Fast payment method?
A: You will receive your quote in the form of an email and the payment method option will be
available to you at that time.
Q: How much does the Fast payment method cost?
A: Unlike other companies we don’t charge anything extra for you to receive your payment.
Q: Is there a minimum payout required to use Fast payment?
A: Yes, $10 payments are the minimum amount we can send by Fast payment.
Q: If I use the Fast payment method and I am not happy with my payment, can I ask to
have my items returned?
A: No. By selecting the Fast payment method, you agree to waive the return of your items.
Q: I have fine jewelry including a Rolex watch to sell. Can I send this item?
A: You can, just notify us that you wish to have the items appraised by us rather than the
standard refining pricing we do with all items we receive. Always best to notify us by phone.
Q: I put in a request for a FREE Shipping Envelope. When can I expect to receive it?
A: FREE Shipping Envelopes will go out same day or the next business day, depending on when
the request was put in. Speed is determined by the speed of mail, but envelopes are often
received in as little as two days. Allow for up to 4-6 days from your order to receive your quote.
Q: Do you pay for Gem Stones?
A: We do pay for gem stones. We do pay wholesale price for all diamonds received and will
gladly accept them. Gems are often good fakes and still we offer cash for both. Let us know if
you have any certification papers that you can provide to help us determine the price we can
pay you for the shipment.
Q: What kind of gold or jewelry will you accept?
A: If you believe there is gold in your jewelry, we will accept it. Gold is found in many household
electronics, but we ask that you extract the gold before submitting those items.
Q: Is the gold envelope insured for free?
A: Yes! Also shipping and insurance are prepaid up to $500. If you wish to insure your pack for
additional value, contact our agents. Canada Post handles all claims.
Q: How will I know when you’ve received my gold/jewelry?
A: You can track the status by using your tracking number on the prepaid envelope your
receive. Canada Posts website allows unlimited tracking of your valuable shipment.
Q: What can I do if I am not satisfied with the amount I have been quoted?
A: If you are unhappy with your payment, call customer service at 1-866-410-2236. We will
gladly re-evaluate your shipment. Your items will be returned to you if we fail to meet your
expectations. The complete contents will be shipped via parcel post and will be insured at no
cost to you.
Q: Can I use my own packaging?
A: Yes you can. If you prefer to not have to wait to receive a shipping envelope from us, feel free
to use your own packaging. Please call for more information.
Q: Some of my old gold jewelry has diamonds, or semi-precious stones, in the
settings. Do I try to remove them before sending to you, or do you return them to me?
A: Any jewelry containing diamonds will be credited back to your account and paid for on your
email quote sheet. Any jewelry containing semi-precious stones will not be paid for. We only pay
for the gold with those items. We recommend that you remove these stones before sending.
